€26 million grant from Germany to support TVET in Jordan

According to Al-Mamlaka TV, the German government provided a grant worth €26 million (US$25 million) for technical and vocational education and training (TVET) to Jordan, as part of supporting a reform process in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Human Resources Development, reports Jordan News.

The project is a continuation of the first (HTUplus) stage that took place in 2019, with an amount of €20 million. The second phase was designed to keep attracting technical and vocational education and training in Jordan, in addition to improving the access of Jordanian youth to the labour market by providing high-quality programmes in this regard.

Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) is the responsible agency for implementing the project under the umbrella of the Crown Prince Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and the Vocational Training Corporation. The project aims to provide practice-oriented TVET in close cooperation with the private sector, thus increasing the employment opportunities for graduates.
