AMMAN — Around 41,860 international students from 109 Arab and foreign countries are currently enrolled in Jordanian educational institutions, the director of the Unified Admission Coordination Unit and the spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Muhannad Al-Khatib, said.اضافة اعلان

They make up 11 percent of the total number of students, he added.

Around 11,315 Arab and foreign students enrolled in Jordanian universities for the academic year 2022–2023, he said, according to Khaberni.

Some countries have limited student admission to some Jordanian universities due to a drop in international ranking at some universities, said Khatib.

To ensure quality, he said, the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation Commission has set standards for general accreditation and other criteria for special accreditation for each program. This aims to increase and improve the quality of university outputs.

Khatib added that official Jordanian delegations would visit countries that had restricted admission to Jordanian universities to improve relations.

He noted that a recent visit by a Jordanian delegation to Iraq and the Kurdistan region resulted in the re-recognition of all official higher education institutions for private study and scholarships.

The University of Jordan recently entered the Shanghai classification, which is considered one of the most important international classifications. The university became the first Jordanian higher education institution to enter this classification.
